What is the return and exchange policy?

Updated Temporary Return Policy

We know that our recent store closures mean that you may have been unable to return items purchased in store. We want to be flexible during this difficult time, so we have made the following temporary changes to our return policies:

For saleable items purchased in store prior to April 1st, 2020, we are extending our return policies by 90 days. That means you will have 455 days from date of purchase to return these items and 180 days from date of purchase to have these items credited back to your original form of payment. Our regular 365 day policy (with credit to the original form of payment within 90 days) continues as before for items purchased online and for any items purchased in store after April 1st, 2020.

Note: Please include only the items listed on your return label in the corresponding box. If you have multiple return labels, return items in separate boxes and apply the correct return label to each box to ensure you receive your refund without further delays.

You'll have 365 days to return most Bloomingdale's purchases for a refund, as long as your purchase is still in saleable condition. Returns within 90 days of purchase will be refunded to the original form of payment. Returns within 91-365 days of purchase will be issued a merchandise credit only. The Final Offer items must be returned within 30 days of the purchase date. Some departments, such as dresses, have special return policies, which are posted. While we cannot accommodate every return, we value you and will always be reasonable. We ask that you do the same.

Remember - we offer free returns every day on online orders. Our hassle-free return policy is part of our commitment to taking care of you every step of the way.

No receipt? We will issue a merchandise credit. Without proof of purchase, you will receive the lowest selling price in the last 180 days. For returns without a receipt, we may require you to provide your name and address, unless we have it on file. We may use your name and address for our security and marketing purposes.  A Word About Promotional Gift Cards: If you return an item which contributed to your receiving a Promotional Gift Card and as a result fall below the qualifying earning threshold, your Promotional Gift Card value and/or return value will be reduced in an amount equal to the corresponding value of the Promotional Gift Card.
